New Aesthetic is the sonic and visual world of Los Angeles-based multi-instrumentalist writer and producer, Evan Engisch.

Evan picked up the guitar and drums at age three — with photo evidence to prove it. The son of a jazz pianist and a record producer, he grew immersed in music, cutting his teeth in the punk and indie scenes as a member of Problem Child, Stay Home, and Nautica.

What began in 2021 as a creative outlet quickly evolved into a multi-media artistic endeavor across music, videography, photography, and visual art.

New Aesthetic's 2022 debut album, Highway Disillusions, was recorded and produced entirely by Evan in a humble home studio.

For his 2025 sophomore release, A Life in the Arts, New Aesthetic enlisted the talents of recording engineer James Brown — known for his work with Foo Fighters, Interpol, Nine Inch Nails, Jimmy Eat World, and Kings of Leon — to capture his most sonically cohesive release to date.

A Life in the Arts stands as a vivid monument to modern indie rock with a futuristic edge. From the U2-esque urgency of "Euphori," to the orchestral sweep of "Overdue," A Life in the Arts presents an expansive personal journey, marking New Aesthetic's leap into full-time artistry.

A student of video production, New Aesthetic has created a collection of uniquely styled music videos — from the marching dance choreography of "Euphori," to the army-in-red surrealism of "Up Away," and the endlessly rotating "clone" performance of "Momentary Wit."

Before devoting himself fully to the arts, Evan earned a degree in mechanical engineering and contributed to innovations in space launch and communications technology — a passion for exploration that still fuels the imaginative spirit behind New Aesthetic.
